Welcome to the Against All Odds ("AAO") website. AAO is a cancer advocacy and cancer support agency based in New Hampshire. We are not doctors or medical professionals. We are fellow cancer patients, family members, caregivers and friends who have faced the challenge that you are currently facing. Our mission is to empower cancer patients and family members and caregivers of cancer patients to take control of your fight against cancer by helping you expand your knowledge about your disease, available treatments and the services available to you in your community.

We understand that facing cancer is scary and it can be difficult to find the information and services that you need. We do not want to offer false hope; making the good fight does not guarantee success. However, individuals who have been given a grim prognosis are surviving every day! We are here to help you find and enlist resources and services that will help you seek remission and cure.

There are 4 ways in which we provide support and information to those of you facing cancer:

We are dedicated to ensuring that cancer patients and family members and caregivers of cancer patients have the resources you need. Please tell us if there is another way in which we can help you and we will do our best to help. Also, if you are an organization that provides care or services to cancer patients and there is something that you need – or if you would like our help in establishing a patient resource room - please let us know. Against All Odds, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. All of our services are free of charge.

The work of AAO is a tribute to the memory of Jerry Kaplan, AAO’s founder and first President, and Alan Silber, AAO’s second president. The passion that both men had for helping others fight cancer was evident in their dedication to AAO.

We owe much gratitude to the members of the Rivier College community who have volunteered their time and skills as webmasters of this site. Many thanks especially go to Jose Tubianosa, webmaster of this site, and Professor Bryan Higgs.
